We are committed to enhancing the quality of life for children in foster, adoptive, and fictive care by providing meaningful support, advocacy, and community engagement. Every child deserves to feel valued, loved, and connected, no matter their circumstances.
One of our most cherished initiatives is our annual Holiday Party, held on the first Wednesday in December. This special event is dedicated to bringing joy and hope to older children in foster care, particularly those known as Wednesday’s Child—children over five whose parental rights have been terminated due to unsafe conditions. These children often face greater challenges in finding permanent homes, making moments of kindness and inclusion even more critical.
More than just a celebration, this event serves as a powerful reminder to these children that they are not forgotten—that they are loved, valued, and surrounded by a caring community that believes in their future. Every act of kindness helps build their confidence, showing them they deserve love, stability, and a family to call their own.

"As for remembering our foster children during the holidays, I would say that a lot of our children didn't have much of anything while growing up in their families before coming into faster care, especially in the way of holiday gifts, so without the support of people giving to Wednesday's Child, and other similar organizations, these children would continue to receive nothing in the way of holiday gifts. -Michael B. Our mission is to recruit and support foster and adoptive parents for children in state care, provide assistance to adoptive families, and equip youth who are waiting for adoption or transitioning to independent living
