The Foster Alumni Network uplifts young adults with a foster care history in a safe and supportive space without adding unnecessary barriers to connection.

The Foster Alumni Network is a life-changing initiative that builds supportive connections and guides former foster youth to community resources related to their current needs. It’s a voluntary place for young adults with foster care history who are 18-35 years old.

We create a safe and supportive space for healthy connections with access to resources for life’s next steps. 

The program involves a monthly hybrid meeting led by the Program Coordinator, Cynthia Schepers.

The meeting will offer social interaction between alumni and the learning of a life skill with corresponding resources. Soon, there will be hybrid meetings with specialized topics such as budgeting and financial planning, job search skills, wellness, and fun topics like sustainable gardening and pet care.

We are working on a resource hub for referrals to professionals and for specific assistance.

Together, we will grow a thriving community where foster young adults experience meaningful connections and have increased involvement in their community with an overall higher quality of life.

Resources needed are vetted volunteers with technology (web app) experience, life skills coaches, and soft skill coaches.
